And Inoue-san has surprised me with his portraying of mad dog Klaus, it’s even more intense than what I’ve expected. As a high tanking officer, Taki is cold and rejective towards Klaus, and that has provoked Klaus to turn into a mad dog.Ĭhiba is very good at portraying the queenlike Taki, beautiful with dignity but yet vulnerable. But their relationship has been filled with angst, despair and rage. When the war spread, Klaus abandoned his country and his family, followed Taki to the enemy country and fought alongside him. He has sworn his loyalty to Taki as his knight. Klaus is a captain with rough temperament and has been called “Mad Dog” by others. Taki is a division commander with noble beauty who bears the fate of his country. The story is so intense and listening to the voices and the music, and also being able to visualize the expression of the characters is such an exceptional experience. I was flipping through the manga while I’m listening, and it felt incredibly good. It’s actually easier to follow in the drama through Klaus’s narration. The story follows the manga closely with only a slight change on the timing of the events. Now this CD has become one of my top favorites in the first half year. Both Inoue-san and Chiba-san’s performance are so wonderful. ~_~ Inoue-san’s voice has always sounded gentle to me so I wasn’t sure if he can portray the “Mad Dog” Klaus well enough. Maybe because of that hoax cast on 2ch, I had the impression the cast is Konishi x Hirakawa. I have to confess I wasn’t really thrilled about the official cast first. The original manga is so incredible and I won’t miss the opportunity to listen to the drama. This drama is based on Inariya Fusanosuke’s popular manga Maiden Rose. What will happen to their innocent love, as they are tangled ever deeper inside the terrible ravages of war? But the world that they live in is hard, distrustful and cold. Two soldiers caught on opposing sides of a war between nations must choose between country and an oath of fealty made long before.
